Slightly surreal that despite 22 hours in the air and a 2 hour stopover in Hong Kong we still arrived at 1.30 pm Sunday early afternoon in Heathrow to cloudless skies. We managed to sleep on the first leg but watched films after the Hong Kong stop. The skies were clear over China at the coast, I was stunned by the size and scale of the build out. Skyscrapers wherever I looked.
My brother Nigel and his family came to the airport to deliver the car back to us. Abi's boyfriend came to sweep her off her feet and drive her home. And then it was into the Sunday afternoon shopping traffic. Home James. And ready for bed.
