Two attempts to fly today. Twice on hold to NZ Airlines for more than 2 hours. Only to be told that we were confirmed for Monday morning. Today we gave up on a Hong Kong stopover and resigned ourselves to just getting to Auckland. The airline had offered us a flight on Dec 25th. Or a complete rescheduling. We pressed on. It was a relief to go for a walk by the Thames and Marble park in the snow. And enjoy a roast dinner courtesy of Bronwen and Colin. Infinitely better than sleeping on the floor of Terminal 1. Which was closed anyway. We know because Karen went there and tried to get in!
