Guess there's a credit crunch on folks..now I've seen everything.

Ads in church - its a small world after all..

Went to a nearby church on Christmas morning. The service was dominated by 2 items - an alternative version of the Nativity story which was shown at a drive in cinema on Second Life last year. My name turns up in the credits - I was rather surprised to be mentioned - I'd only gone along for a coffee to the planning meeting. And the 30 second version of the Christmas story which 8 people then tried to beat with their own personal 30 second take on the story with 3 kings acting as judges. It was a lot of fun. All this multimedia courtesy of the Church Advertising network where a team from the London ad agencies make ads for the churches every year and shows them in unusual places. I never expected to see one in church.  

I saw 3 ships come sailing by.. on Christmas day in the morning

Rather strange to wake up every morning including Christmas morning looking at the sea. And here are the 3 ships of the Christmas carol. Only they aren't sailing by. there were 6 of them actually - anchored off the Devon coast to stay in shelter. All cargo vessels with no cargoes. There's a global credit crunch remember. It costs more to tie up by the dock. So they stay at sea and the crews stay with them.

Priming you for something a little different

I passed this in the street in Soho - and paused for a moment. This pump was the one Dr Jon Snow persuaded the authorities to turn off which saved hundreds of lives and proved that cholera is a water borne disease and can be  beaten. The pub behind is named after the great man. Spare a thought and say a prayer for the people of Zimbabwe thousands of whom are dying from a disease quite unnecesssarily because their leader claims there is no cholera and any way its all someone else's fault.

Waggledancers vs Woebegone Brothers

I was in a band very long ago called the Woebegone Brothers. I am in process of editing down a movie of our last gig which was at the end of August. I've set up a myspace page. And a video on youtube. And thought it a good opportunity to post on the Waggledancers planning as collaboration site about what happened when we started and the audience made tapes, badges, posters and tshirts because we hadn't the foresight to make any. Purchasing and co-creation as participation - that's the theme. And it give me the chance to promote both. Enjoy! 

It was a dark and stormy night...

Actually the night was a bit of a blast - after finishing the training at Inferno I went to Mesh/Springs Christmas party in Camden - great fun and I met loads of mates I hadn't seen in ages. Got the time wildly wrong and found myself trainless at Liverpool Street. So with my trusty iphone I hopped from night bus to night bus finally making it home at 3.30 and I think I had managed to walk about 5 miles in that time as well. So a little wasted (but happy) this morning. Thanks to Fiona and Steve and the gang at Mesh/Spring.
